Miracle Update: Answer to Prayer for Helen.
We are thrilled to announce that God has answered our prayers for our daughter's surgery! The Hindu doctor, who has been overseeing her case, was touched with the way Mervis cried and by the fervency of your and our prayers and has made a generous offer.
According to the doctor, he has been instructed by their Hindit to offer the surgery at a reduced cost. He has agreed to perform the surgery with two other doctors, and they will cover half of the costs. We are responsible for the remaining half.
The surgery is scheduled to take place on Sunday night (Dec 21st).
We are overwhelmed with gratitude for this miracle and are seeking guidance on how to proceed with the doctor's offer.

Helen was abandoned by her mother on the day she was born. She didn't know a mother's tender, loving care. Nor the protection of a father who adored her. From birth, she had been cast into an orphanage where she received no childhood vaccinations, no medicine, and no attention. Only trauma and heartache. Until. . .
Until our friends and ministry partners, Pastors Patrick and Mervis Readson, adopted her 10 months ago!
A God-ordained meeting. When the Readsons visited the orphanage, little Helen broke away from the other children and literally threw her tiny, emaciated body into Mervis’ arms. She clung desperately to Mervis’ neck and refused to let go. “It was a sign to us from God,” the Readsons said. “Surely our meeting was God-ordained.”
For the past several months, the Readsons have made the 450-mile round trip, which takes about 7 hours each way, from their home in Blantyre to the capital city of Lilongwe for expert medical care a half dozen times. Helen has already been successfully treated for TB, sawdust in her lungs, an arachnoid cyst on her brain, and meningitis.

A powerful witness from a Hindu doctor. Doctors told the Readsons, “This child would have died long ago if you had not adopted her.” The Readsons’ powerful faith in Jesus impressed the surgical team, especially one Hindu doctor who said:
“You are serving the living God. God is alive, and He is going to heal your daughter.”
Until now, we have been able to raise the funds needed for Helen's previous medical care from within our small fellowship and family members. But now we need your help. The total cost of this crucial brain surgery is estimated at $40,000, including follow-up treatment, medication, lodging, meals, and transportation. The Readsons live in one of the poorest nations of the world, where gasoline costs more than $15 a gallon. They truly need a miracle from God!
