Who We Are—And Our Vision for Ministry
The Father’s love for us is the foundation and guiding principle of J3 Khai Restoration Ministries. Our vision and passion is to help believers grow into a deeper, more intimate fellowship with Father God—learning how to abide in Him through difficult times and trusting Him even when we don’t understand.
“J3” stands for two core verses that underlie our vision and purpose: John 3:16 and John 17:3.
John 3:16 reveals the Father’s heart, answering four key questions. “Why?” Everything the Father does is out of love (“God so loved the world…”). “Who?” His love is focused on us, mankind, whom He created in His image. “What?”God wants fellowship with you and me for eternity. “How?” God sent us His Son, Jesus, to offer us eternal life. Because God loves you, He wants you to have eternal life with Him.
In John 17:3, Jesus reveals what eternal life is. While talking with Father God, Jesus says, “This is eternal life, that they may know You, the one true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” Eternal life is having a relationship with Father God and Jesus. It is a decision that calls us on a life-long journey, taking us deeper and deeper into the heart of the Father through both seasons of trials and blessings.
He is God living inside us when we believe and receive Jesus as our Savior. Through the Holy Spirit working in us, we are “born again,” become God’s children, and are continually being transformed from the inside out. God Himself living within each believer—can we have a closer relationship than that?
But we have a choice. The more open we are to receiving and being filled with God’s love, the more we are able to love God in return, and the more we can reach out and love others.
As we abide in His love, Father will inspire and help us live out our DNA—the Divine Natural Abilities He created within us so that we may walk out our uniqueness, individually and collectively, as members of His Body.
God loves you so much that he sent His only Son, Jesus, to pay for your sins. He loves you so much that after He raised Jesus from the dead, He opened the way so you could follow Jesus into Father God’s presence. He loves you so much that He sent Himself, His Holy Spirit, to dwell in and with you always—as your Helper, Comforter, Guide, and Advocate.

Patrick and Mervis Readson: Journey of Faith in Malawi
From street preaching…to over 40 churches…to Parliament
The Call of God came in the middle of the night. “Patrick, you will be My soldier and serve Me.” The young teenager knew God was calling him to become a pastor. Yet, as the eldest son, he knew his family expected him to join the Army as a soldier or be a police officer. That was his duty, the honorable thing to do, to support his younger brothers and sisters.
However, when Jesus said, “Follow Me,” Patrick obeyed and left everything to follow Jesus. Forsaken by his family, he lived on the streets. He learned to trust God and depend on Him alone. After graduating from Bible college, he married Mervis, who her family had also rejected for following God’s call. The young couple moved to a large city where, homeless themselves, they began preaching the Gospel in the streets of Blantyre, Malawi. From this humble beginning, God birthed their first church.
Yet they both hungered to know more of God and His Word, to be discipled. In answer to their fervent prayers, God led them to Rev. Sergeant Major Michael J. Weiss, Sr., U.S. Army (Ret.), an ordained minister who was working at the time with Disciplers International.
“I met Patrick more than 13 years ago, in 2009, when he reached out to me asking for help,” recalls Seargent Major Weiss. “We both had a heart for evangelizing Africa. We both shared the same great vision for spreading the Gospel throughout Africa, starting with Malawi and into the neighboring country of Mozambique. Early in their marriage, even before I met them, the Readsons had learned to trust God as the Provider for all their needs."
“Our friendship grew quickly. Within the first few months of discipling them, it was obvious to me they had the Call of God on their lives. They were eager to learn, quick to absorb, and diligent to apply everything they learned. Before long, they became disciple-makers themselves.
I began traveling regularly to Malawi, and along with Disciplers International, we have supported them through J3 Khai Restoration Ministries."
“Patrick and Mervis co-pastor as a team, and the results speak for themselves,” adds Pastor Michael Weiss. “Today, their ministry includes 41 satellite churches with more than 10,000 devoted Christians. It is heartwarming to visit with their family and church leaders, see the results of their ministry, and speak at their annual Conferences. (Their eldest, Joel, a top student, plans to become a medical doctor and study medicine in the United States. After graduation, he plans to return to Malawi to open his practice.)”
The Readsons attribute this phenomenal growth in church plants to Michael Weiss and the pivotal role of J3 Khai Restoration Ministries. “When Michael started his annual visits to us in Malawi in 2012, this became the turning point,” they said. “Michael had a much bigger vision than we had. We are in awe of the seeds sown, and the fruits reaped over the years through his vision. We would never have seen such miraculous growth, spiritually and in numbers, had it not been for Michael’s love for the people of Malawi, his vision, his unwavering support, and his wisdom in leadership. Only the Lord could have brought us together to work this way for His Kingdom purposes.”
Patrick and Mervis continue to shepherd their flock and bring hope and healing through the Gospel in tumultuous times—despite devastating hurricanes, cyclones, and cholera epidemics that annually destroy lives and wipe out homes and villages in Malawi. They brought Patrick’s younger brothers and sisters into their home, supported them, and helped them get an education, as well as members of Mervis’ family. This couple remains steadfast in their faith and trust in the love of Father God.
New Doors — Higher Calling. As the Readsons continue to follow God and obey Him, the Lord is leading them to open an orphanage with a school and enough land to grow vegetables and raise chickens as the food supply. They are raising funds with their pastors to build permanent church buildings that will withstand future weather events.
Most importantly, God has called Patrick to become a leader in government. Fellow students and professors repeatedly “saw” Patrick holding high political office in Malawi. This calling was further confirmed when civil and tribal leaders in Patrick’s home district urged him to run for Parliament and endorsed him as their representative. Patrick has been given a new mantle of authority. He has accepted The Call.
“He who is faithful in the least, is also faithful in much.” (Luke 16:10)

5 - Of course, continue to encourage and equip them to make more disciples and disciple-makers who know how much Father God loves them and love God and others in return.
